Washington, D.C. — In response to the United States District Court Northern District of California rejecting the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) request for an injunction to delay Microsoft’s private business proceedings as they planned to merge with Activision Blizzard, Congressman Jeff Duncan (R-SC) released the following statement regarding theruling:

“The Federal Trade Commission’s overreach and attempt to stifle economic innovation and growth by making U.S. businesses subservient to a foreign jurisdiction is another example of the Biden Administration putting American interests last. I celebrate the Court rightly siding against the FTC to stop this anti-American business practice and affirm American economic sovereignty. I will continue to fight back against any attempts from the Biden Administration to allow foreign bureaucrats to control American business dealings.”

Background: Congressman Duncan questioned FTC Chair Khan about foreign interference in American business deals in April and in March called on the United States Trade Representative and Department of Commerce to end these practices.
