Sheri Biggs, U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s Third Congressional District, recently highlighted local achievements and paid tribute to law enforcement officers in a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On May 13, Biggs recognized a student from D.W. Daniel High School for academic excellence: “Congratulations to Caton Tsao, a student at D.W. Daniel High School in Central, for winning the Congressional App Challenge for the Third District! Every year, one submission from each Congressional district is selected. Continuing her focus on law enforcement during National Police Week, Biggs wrote: “This National Police Week, I joined the Leventhal Report to honor the brave officers across the Third District who risk their lives to protect our communities. The Congressional App Challenge is an annual competition aimed at encouraging students’ interest in coding and STEM education by recognizing innovative software applications created by high school students across congressional districts.
National Police Week is observed every May in the United States as a time to recognize law enforcement officers’ service and sacrifices nationwide.
