Anderson University issued the following announcement on October 27.
Three faculty members from the Anderson University College of Health Professions attended the 2021 Educational Leadership Conference for Physical Therapy Educators October 22-24 in Atlanta.
Making presentations at the conference were Dr. Heather Kindel and Dr. Jessica Jacobs. According to Dr. Martha Hinman, professor and chair in the School of Physical Therapy, the schedule for educational sessions at the Educational Leadership Conference is “extremely competitive,”noting that their acceptance of Drs. Kindel and Jacobs’ presentation, "Creating a Culture of Feedback," was “a big accomplishment.”
“They had a full audience of clinical and academic faculty from around the country who participated in their 90-minute presentation which talked about various approaches to giving and receiving feedback, both to students and faculty,” Dr. Hinman commented. “In addition, we had a poster presentation accepted on the outcomes of our "SPICE of Life" program in which we pair a retired person from the local community with each of our DPT students to help support and mentor them during their time with us. SPICE stands for ‘senior partners in clinical education.’"
The conference is a collaborative effort by APTA Academy of Education and the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy.
