The Association of Christians in Student Development (ACSD) announced that Anderson University will host its annual conference in June 2023. The announcement was made today at this year’s conference in Indiana.
Jon Gropp, associate vice president for student development and dean of students, says that hosting ACSD gives Anderson University the chance to showcase its amazing campus to more than 600 student development professionals across the country.
“This is a really unique opportunity for Anderson. ACSD is a large organization that has been around for over 50 years. With only one conference per year, we join a short list of schools that have hosted the conference,” Gropp said. Hosting the conference will also give us the opportunity to encourage and challenge student development staff in ways that will hopefully bring positive change to their campus and in turn advance the Kingdom of God. I’ve been a member of ACSD for 20 years and I know how impactful this organization has been to me. I am thrilled to be able to “give back” by serving as a host for the 2023 conference.”
Lauren Brett, Anderson University’s director of student involvement and new student programs, echoed Gropp’s sentiment.
“It’s an incredibly sweet opportunity for us to highlight the unique DNA of Anderson University and all we have to offer here,” Brett said. “Obviously, we’re a university that highlights innovation and education, but we also highlight hospitality and service. This conference will really allow us the opportunity to showcase so many aspects of why we do what we do. For me, I cannot wait to introduce everyone to AU and really highlight that all the work we do here is truly for the good of our students and the glory of God.”
ACSD is committed to assisting student affairs professionals to stay current and relevant in the quickly changing environment of higher education, and Christian higher education in particular. More details can be found on their website at acsd.org.
